Jack photos/ Christmas in Cranny

Here are a few recent photos of the little man for the folks at home, followed by our Christmas trip to Cranbrook.

In the photo below, Jack has on a jersey given to us by our good friends Kip and Heather. The little man looks pretty comfortable in the country's colors. I swear that I haven't pushed the fact that I would like Jack to try his hand at hockey...I may have mailed his height and weight projections to central scouting, but that's not really a big deal....

Once again, the Maudies made us and the Kiwis part of their extended family for Christmas this year. We jumped at the opportunity as usual, especially as we may not be in the west next year for the holidays. As usual, great times were had...sorry about all the pics, but it was hard to taper down

Christmas Day Skate/Ski

Karl and I were working the puck around pretty well, despite the old animal/human prints left on our sheet of ice. The Kiwi didn't let it deter him, as he wheeled gracefully around the rink.

Thanks for the sled Mary and Gerald!

Boxing Day WIENER Roast

Not sure who had the idea for this one, but it was damn brilliant. At any rate, after epic preparations to get al the kids/gear loaded, we headed out for a ski/snow shoe tour, and weiner roast.

Below, is the rough terrain modification to the LL bean sled...it held up well and kept Jack nice and toasty.

The Prince

Saturday was a bluebird day, and despite the poor outlook on the Avy report for K-country, Kyle, the Kiwis and I headed for the mountains. The picture below and the smiles on everyone's face pretty much paint the picture.....

To add to Karl's eloquent question of last week...is it possible that the forks may also play a role in producing fluffy, white POW?

The only time jo wasn't grinning was to take a breath as we trudged up a damn steep up-track.

Kyle is in mid-season form right now. I can't take full credit but I did help to train his Left deep multifidus muscle to fire properly not long ago...His stability was amazing. I think I even saw him pulling off some one legged maneuvers while navagating the trees.

Not only can his forks create a sun ring...Karl can "shiv" nar with style and ease. (I apologize for those who have no idea what the F#%* I'm talking about).

Jo is looking strong this year...Rumor has it she's been hitting the iron at U of C. It seems to paying off as she was powering down the hill yesterday.

With his natural ability, grit and determination, Jack is quickly honing his skill on the Maracas. Karl, you'd better get yourself in the studio to work on your game, or you will quickly lose your job in the band.

Last weekend we had the good fortune to work with a Czech skier at the world cup in Lake Louise. Seen below, Jack was pretty pumped about the oportunity to stay at the Chateau and be able to "starfish" between us on a king size bed.

one half of team Czech...I'm happy to say that Ondrej just came third in the Super combined at Beaver Creek, Colorado taking down the likes of Bode Miller.

The King and Queen of the Chateau

On the last day we managed to get out on the ice...Jill and Andre worked on their faceoff skills. All I'm going to say is that my wife has a quick stick....

Josh set a record for the world's longest breakaway. A long way to go to miss the net and dump it in the corner...

Leslie and Andre out for an afternoon stroll.

Hugh...livin' the Canadian dream

Visions of Lake Fletcher back in Nova Scotia come to mind...this is where mom and dad first put me on the double blades. Never thought I'd ever be doing crossovers down the lake while pushing a chariot with my son on board...well, hope he didn't inherit my hands!
